NWS: Tornado in Arabi ‘at least’ an EF-3

The tornado that tore across Arabi was ‘at least’ an EF-3 according to the National Weather Service.

Surveyors with the National Weather Service continue to assess the damage done by last night’s tornado. The NWS says they expect the final assessment to be completed in the coming days.

The weather service defines an EF-3 tornado as “strong, significant and intense.”

The weather service also says the tornado on the Northshore was possibly an EF-1 and started near Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge, crossed I-12 with 90 mph winds.
