Jefferson Parish deputies arrest an Old Metairie man accused of shooting his 21-year-old grandson during an argument.

JPSO spokesperson Capt. Jason Rivarde says it happened about 8:30 p.m. Saturday night at a home in the 500 block of Phosphor Avenue in Metairie.

Rivarde says 60-year-old William Rogers was booked with aggravated battery in connection with the shooting.

The sheriff’s office didn’t say what the two men were arguing about but say the grandson was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital.

Rodgers was also booked for being a fugitive from Plaquemines Parish on an unrelated charge.
