After going 12 straight days without a homicide, the New Orleans Police Department is investigating the city’s third homicide in the last five days.
The latest homicide took place on Garden Oaks Drive near Behrman Highway in Algiers.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, arriving officers found the victim, a 32-year-old man, dead of a gunshot wound in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Police are withholding the victim's identity pending notification of family.
The shooting remains under investigation.
