One woman is dead after a shooting near the McDonough Playground in Algiers, near the Mississippi River.
Police say the shooting happened around 7:00pm on Teche Street between Lawrence and Ptolemy Streets.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, an EMS crew took the victim to an area hospital, where the victim later died. Police did not provide any identifying information about the suspect.
