
One person is dead after a New Year’s Night shooting in Thibodaux.
According to Chief Bryan Zeringue of the Thibodaux Police Department, that shooting happened just before midnight on January 1 on St.
Charles Street between 7th and 12th Streets.
Zeringue says officers found the victim dead at the scene.
Zeringue did not provide any details about what led to the shooting, saying the case remains under investigation. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
