A New Orleans man is in the Jefferson Parish Jail this morning after deputies say he shot and killed another man in Avondale overnight.
That shooting happened just before 1 a.m. outside a business on U. S. 90 near Jamie Boulevard.
Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies say Semaj Brown shot the victim outside a business. The victim died at the scene. Deputies later arrested Brown and booked him on one count of second-degree murder.
Deputies have not released the victim's name or details about what led to the shooting.
The case remains under investigation.
