Halloween time is enjoyed by all, but it most certainly starts with the excitement kids bring to the holiday.

While your favorite little ones trick or treat, or attend Halloween parties and fall festivals, two organizations want you to consider their safety around this time of year as well, beyond remembering to look both ways before crossing the street.

Crimestoppers and the U.S. marshals want you to be extra vigilant during Halloween, just as they are. The two agencies have conducted operation Boo Bat since 2009, an effort aimed at noncompliant sex offenders.

US Deputy Marshall Brian Fair says this effort has become essential to ensuring the safety of everyone.

"It started in 2009 as an operation that happened only around Halloween, now it is a season long effort."

Darlene Cusanza CEO of Greater New Orleans Crimestoppers says that the public should not miss the seriousness of the crimes that the people they are looking for have committed."

"We have thirteen level three offenders that have been noncompliant up to ten years."

Crimestoppers and the marshalls ask for the public's help. You can find a list of offenders on the Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans website.
