The New Orleans' coroner's office is dealing with an air conditioning outage.

The coroner says the morgue's coolers are still running, but the rest of the building, including where they perform autopsies, is extremely hot.

They're working an arrangement to use LSU' autopsy facility, possibly as soon as tomorrow.

"While certain procedures have been temporally paused out of an abundance of caution, we are actively working with everyone to resume operations safely and as swiftly as possible," said Dr. Dwight McKenna, Orleans Parish Coroner.

Meanwhile, the coroner says contractors are working to repair the A/C.

"Contractors are working on the issue, and we’re hopeful for a swift resolution," he said. "We were hoping it would be fixed by now, but they are running into challenges with specialty parts."
