According to a parade marshal and witnesses on the parade route, the Leviathan float caught fire while it was making its way down the Uptown parade route. That fire started just after 9 p.m. on St. Charles Avenue near St. Andrew Street.

The parade was stopped while firefighters battled the flames. WWL’s Dave Cohen, who is at the parade, says the fire has been extinguished and that the parade is moving again.

There are no reports of injuries stemming from the fire.
