An off-duty police officer from out-of-state got into a gun battle with suspected car burglars this afternoon in Mid-City, WWL-TV reports.
According to the report, the off-duty cop witnessed confronted the suspects who were trying to break into the officer's car. It happened near the corner of Norman C. Francis Parkway and Bienville Street.
Shots were fired, and the suspects escaped in another vehicle.
No one was hurt. The New Orleans Police Department is investigating.
