A man is hospitalized this morning after gunfire in the French Quarter.
"Around 2:16 a.m., Eighth District officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 600 block of St. Louis Street," according to a news release. "Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound."
EMS took the victim to a local hospital.
An initial police report says the shooter also robbed the victim.
"Suspect produced firearm, shot victim, took victim’s cell phone and fled."
No word on the victim's condition.
