Saturday night in New Orleans proved to be another bloodbath as no fewer than five shootings took place beginning just after 5pm.

Three people were wounded in a drive by shooting on Piety Street near the corner with St. Claude Avenue.

One of the injured is an eight-year-old child.

A woman and a man, both assumed to be the child’s parent were also shot.

All three victims were transported to a hospital by EMS.

On the west bank at the intersection of General DeGaulle and L.B. Landry, gunfire from a suspect’s car struck another vehicle driven by a woman.  The victim sustained numerous gunshot wounds and ran off the road.

She was declared deceased by arriving officers.

A male passenger in her vehicle was not injured.

Somewhere in the vicinity of Read Boulevard and Morrison in a man was shot, he made his own way to a hospital.

Early Sunday morning just after 1am, a man was shot in the thigh off Louisa and Higgins Boulevard and a bystander was hit by shrapnel from the bullet.

Both men were transported to a local hospital.

Minutes later off Downman and Pines, a man heard gunshots and realized he was shot in the leg.

The victim went to the hospital on his own.

On Magazine and Common, just after 4am, two people involved in an argument with three other men were drawn down on by them.

One victim was struck in the leg.  He made his own way to a hospital.

All of these crimes are under investigation by the New Orleans Police Department.

They are asking for the public’s help to crack these cases.
