Two people are facing second-degree murder and obstruction of justice charges after sheriff's deputies say they provided a deadly dose of heroin to a man and dumping his body on the side of a road near Chauvin.
Keith Myers, Jr., 29, of Chauvin and Brinkley Dantin, 24, Galliano, are accused of not only giving the victim the heroin on which he overdosed on July 4 but also of dumping his body out of their car late that night, leaving the deceased on the side of Bayouside Road. A passerby later found the victim's body and called authorities.
Authorities are not releasing the victim's name pending the investigation.
Both Myers and Dantin are in jail on $1,025,000 bond.
