Entergy has had success in getting more power restored in metro New Orleans.

Parts of the French Quarter got their lights back last night and sent a few locals to their social media to share the news.

Areas of Chalmette and Arabi also received power last night.

St. Bernard Parish President Guy McInnis says power is back at St. Bernard Parish Hospital. He also mentioned the Popeyes in Chalmette has power.

Entergy overnight started its plan to use its New Orleans Power Station in Michoud to get power into the metro area. The plan also calls for them to use their Ninemile 6 plant in Bridge City to join the effort, which should provide more than 700 megawatts of power for greater New Orleans.

The company will still have to get its transmission lines coming in from other power plants to achieve full restoration. Entergy says the region typically uses around 1.1 gigawatts (1,100 megawatts) of power.
