Louisiana State Police say 45-year-old Phillip E. Bennett from Pearl River was killed in a head-on-collision in St. Tammany parish.
Authorities say the crash happened on LA 41 north of LA 36 when Bennett driving his 2004 Toyota Camry northbound on LA 41, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a 2013 Toyota Highlander traveling southbound.
Investigators say Bennett was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was transported by EMS to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the Highlander was also injured and taken to the hospital.
Investigators do not think impairment was a factor in the crash, however, the investigation is ongoing.
