A Slidell man is facing charges in a drunk driving crash that killed a pedestrian.
That crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Friday on Gause Boulevard West.
According to Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal, Eric Gonzalez drove his truck off the road and onto the shoulder, hitting Jarius Pratt. Fandal says Pratt, 42, was walking along the side of the road when he was struck. Pratt later died at a hospital.
Fandal says Gonzalez’s truck ended up in a ditch after he hit Pratt. Investigators determined Gonzalez, 36, was driving impaired and arrested him on vehicular homicide, DWI, and careless operation charges.
