A man struck by a pickup truck as he walked along Jean Lafitte Boulevard Sunday has died, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.
Deputies say around 10:45 p.m. on March 1, 42-year-old Chad Williams was in the roadway in the 3700 block of Jean Lafitte Blvd. when a Toyota pickup came around the curve.
Despite the driver trying to take evasive action, the truck hit Williams. He was taken to the hospital where he died Wednesday.
The sheriff's office said the driver cooperated with deputies and the investigation is ongoing.
