A pedestrian is dead after New Orleans police say that person was struck by an 18-wheeler in New Orleans East.
The crash happened around 4:20 a.m. Tuesday on Paris Road near the Green Bridge.
An NOPD spokesperson says the pedestrian died at the scene.
Traffic in the area is blocked while police investigate the crash. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
