Louisiana State Police say a vehicle ran over a pedestrian in Terrebonne Parish late Monday night. The crash claimed the life of 30-year-old Kristie Brunet of Bourg, Louisiana.
According to troopers, Brunet was walking along the 100 block of Lower Country Drive when shortly after 10 p.m., a north-bound 2005 GMC Sierra came up behind her and hit her.
"Brunet suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, while the driver of the GMC sustained no injuries," said Trooper Ross Brennan.
Brennan says the driver of the Sierra voluntarily submitted to a breathalyzer test and no alcohol was detected. Toxicology results on Brunet are pending.
The crash remains under investigation.
