A nasty crash on the Crescent City Connection from the Westbank to the Eastbank caused traffic delays Saturday on both the CCC and the Huey P. Long Bridge over the Mississippi River.
"The NOPD is investigating a multi car Traffic Crash with Injury on US 90 Eastbound right before the Camp Street Exit," Officer Reese Harper said in an email. "Traffic is being redirected to Tchoupitoulas Exit while the accident is being investigated and cleared."
Delays stretched over the river, through Gretna and into Marrero to the Manhattan Blvd. exit.
Many drivers chose to take the Huey P. Long Bridge instead.
"There were five people transported with complaint of injury as a result of the accident."
The crash happened shortly before 11:30am.
