Mardi Gras is over; festival season has arrived. And the local-favorite French Quarter Fest will feature a local legend who hasn't performed at FQ Fest in a long, long time.
"After more than a decade away from our stages, Grammy Award-winning New Orleans native PJ Morton returns to headline the 2026 French Quarter Festival. Joining him is a stellar lineup including Dawn Richard, Bobby Rush, the Sally Baby’s Silver Dollars, and over 1,700 local musicians performing across four unforgettable days," said French Quarter Festivals, Inc.
PJ Morton commented on his return, stating, "New Orleans raised me musically, spiritually and creatively. Returning to headline feels full circle. There's nothing like bringing our music back to the community in a space that's free and open to everyone."
Morton hasn't performed at the free festival since 2014, and in the years since, he racked up 6 Grammys and 20 nominations.
The free festival is to run April 16th-19th, and will feature many big-time New Orleans natives, including Irma Thomas, Big Freedia, Kermit Ruffins, George Porter Jr.
