New Orleans Police say a group of carjackers stole a Jeep and camera gear from a photographer.

An initial police report says one of the suspects contacted the victim, posing as a client wanting to do a photo shoot at an apartment complex in Algiers.

"Upon arrival, they began the shoot when the suspect suggested they move to another location further towards the back of the complex. Once at the new location, 5-7 subjects armed with guns approached."

NOPD says the gunmen took the photographer's belongings and the Jeep he and another man drove to the photo shoot.

"The suspects then fled with camera equipment, wallets, and a gun along with the victims' 2018 tan Jeep."

it happened around 8:30pm in the 3100 block of Rue Parc Fontaine.
