The funeral procession for Sergeant Theresa Simon has been finalized.

The funeral procession will begin after the services at the Slidell Municipal Auditorium.


The estimated start time for the funeral procession is around 1:30 p.m., but is subject to change based on how long the services will last.

The procession is expected to last for 45 minutes–to—1 hour, and will be led by over one-hundred police motorcycles, police cars, fire trucks, and other first responder vehicles.

Citizens are encouraged to line up along the procession route to pay their last respects.

The space at Forest Lawn Cemetery will be limited.

We are asking that the graveside service be limited to family, close friends, and Slidell Police employees.

Slidell Police are asking citizens to treat the procession as you would a parade and understand that roadways will be shut down for up to an hour.

If you do not wish to pay your respects along the procession route, please plan ahead and take an alternate route.

Please remember funeral procession etiquette by pulling over to the side of the road, and remember vehicles in the funeral procession have the right of way.

Law Enforcement participating in the procession will have a designated area to park police units along Second Street.

Motorcycles are designated to park along Erlanger Street.

Slidell Police reserve officers will be posted at every intersection for assistance.

St. Tammany Fire District One will be participating in the funeral procession.

Other visiting units will be lining up along Front Street.
