A student at Louisiana State University was arrested Wednesday for allegedly sharing child pornography through the LSU router system.

Jahi Palmer-Davis, 20, was taken into custody after an investigation that was spurred by a January 5 cyber tip to police that contained two pornographic videos or images of children under the age of 13 shared through an Instagram account and a Google email account.

After subpoenaing the accounts, they were linked to Palmer-Davis.

A search warrant executed on Palmer-Davis’s Instagram account revealed he had chatted with other users about trading videos that contained child sexual abuse material. One of the Instagram users Palmer-Davis messaged identified themselves as 14 years old.

Palmer-Davis sent that user videos and instructed them how to post their own nudes. He used his university email and LSU’s router system for his file uploads.

He has been charged with unauthorized use of a wireless router system as well as the child pornography charge.
