A crash in Tangipahoa Parish has claimed the life of a Ponchatoula man.
According to state troopers, Andrew Monistere, 59, died in that three-car crash, which happened Wednesday morning on LA 22 near West Timberlane Drive.
Investigators say Monistere crossed the center line, forcing another car to veer off the road and into a ditch. A truck behind that second car then hit Monistere's car head-on, killing Monistere. Troopers say Monistere was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the second car was not injured. The driver of the truck was taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
