Every king cake brand has its devoted fans, and people who love the ones from Dong Phuong may be distressed to hear there aren't any available today.
"We had a bit of a production issue that we realized yesterday evening," said Mimi Ducombs, manager at Dong Phuong. "So we scrapped all of the king cakes. We did have any going out today."
Ducombs said the issue is taken care of and they will be back in stores Tuesday.
"Tomorrow, we'll have our king cakes to our resellers like Zuppardo's and different resellers that we have throughout the city," she said. "We'll have them for sale at our bakery on Wednesday morning."
