In the early morning hours on Saturday, Troopers with Louisiana State Police investigate a single-vehicle fatality crash on LA 23 in the southern part of Plaquemines Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 52-year-old Anthony Burros of Port Sulphur.
State police say the preliminary investigation revealed Burros was traveling southbound on LA 23 near 21215 LA 23 in a 2002 Toyota Tundra. For reasons which are unknown but still under investigation, the Tundra ran off the road to the left, crossed the median and both northbound lanes of LA 23, and struck a tree.
Burros was taken to a local area hospital where he later died of his injuries.
As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample will follow his autopsy. This crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information at this time.
