Update: All effected Entergy customers have now had their power fully restored as of 9:40 a.m. An Entergy spokesperson says at this time, an unknown problem at a substation caused the outage. The cause is being investigated.
Thousands of residents in Orleans Parish are without power Monday morning.
According to Entergy’s outage map, as of 8:30 a.m., 8,527 customers are without electricity in the Gentilly, Bayou St. John, and Mid City neighborhoods.
Its not clear at this time what caused the outage.
