Power outages hit thousands of residents in spotty areas in Kenner and on the northshore in Covington Friday night.
According to Entergy’s outage map, the power went out about 8 p.m. leaving more than 20,000 customers in the dark. The outages were scattered in areas of Kenner, Bridge City on the Westbank and parts of Central City in New Orleans.
Most of the power has been restored but about 1,300 residents in those affected areas remain without lights.
Over on the northshore hundreds are without power from Mandeville to Covington and Abita Springs, according to Cleco’s outage map.
About 223 customers in the Mandeville area are without power and more than 800 are without electricity across Covington and Abita Springs areas.
This all comes as people hunker down while Hurricane Delta makes landfall in the Lake Charles area which is still recovering from Hurricane Laura.
