The coronavirus has moved a some of New Orleans' biggest spring time events to this autumn: French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, and Buku fest have all announced fall engagements.
Voodoo Fest is already planning for its annual Halloween weekend festival, and New Orleans autumn also means the New Orleans Saints dominating half of the Sundays from September through December.
All of these events happening so close together may put a strain on public safety resources.
"It’s important to remember that none of those are clear to happen until the city is able to approve them," said New Orleans Mayor's Office spokesman Beau Tidwell at his weekly news conference. "All of those decisions will be made based upon what our public safety bandwidth is."
