
The New Orleans Police Department says four people were shot early Friday afternoon in the Seventh Ward, and at least one victim has died.
The shootings neat A.P. Tureaud Ave. and N. Roman St. were reported shortly before 1 p.m.
According to officers, a white pickup truck pulled up on the scene and one or more occupants of the truck opened fire on a group of men.
An adult man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three victims, also men, were taken to the hospital.
NOPD Deputy Chief Hans Ganthier said another victim died a short time later after arriving at the hospital.
Police found the truck a few hours later, about a mile and a half away, at N. Tonti and Port streets.
