Ah, the Carnival season in New Orleans. Aside from the sights and sounds of parades and parties, it also conjures up a bevy of memories so rich you can practically taste them: a favorite king cake, fried chicken on the parade route, perhaps a favorite adult beverage in the French Quarter.
And this year, a new flavor is looking to become synonymous with Mardi Gras… Cane’s sauce.
The Raising Cane’s restaurants in the New Orleans area will be selling gold doubloons at $1 apiece. Once purchased, the doubloon can be shown at any of the Big Easy’s franchise locations and a free cup of the restaurant’s signature sauce will be yours.
Additionally, for every doubloon bought, Raising Cane’s will donate $1 to Roots of Music, a music and mentorship program for local youth.
Participating restaurants include locations in New Orleans, Metairie, the West Bank, the Northshore, Hammond, Houma and Thibodaux.
The promotion runs through Mardi Gras Day, March 1.
