A second man has been booked in connection with a fight at a Madisonville restaurant involving St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith.
The Louisiana Attorney General's Office says Gregory Jules Saurage turned himself in at the St. Tammany Parish Jail on Monday afternoon.
Investigators say Saurage identified the victim, Robert Couvillon, to Smith and encouraged Smith to attack.
Officials booked Saurage on one felony count of principal to second degree battery.
Last week, authorities booked Sheriff Smith on a charge of second degree battery and two counts of disturbing the peace.
