A now former executive at the Ray Brandt Auto Group is facing charges after he was arrested for allegedly stealing from Brandt’s widow.
NOLA.com reports that Roch Eshleman was fired from his job as the company’s marketing director after his arrest on Thursday. Eshleman is facing one count of theft of more than $25,000 and 52 counts each of bank fraud and computer fraud.
According to investigators, Eshleman used his position as Jessica Brandt’s right-hand man to steal more than $644,000 from a personal business Brandt ran. Brandt allegedly began stealing the money in 2021. Brandt first reported the thefts to authorities in June after she discovered them.
Brandt’s attorney says it doesn’t appear any money was stolen from the Ray Brandt Auto Group.
