An 18-year-old from St. Tammany Parish who went missing while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River Saturday afternoon has been recovered, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say a 911 call came in around 1:44 p.m. reporting that a tuber had gone underwater and failed to resurface.
Deputies responded alongside volunteers from the District Six Fire Department, Northshore Ambulance personnel, and a specialized dive team equipped with sonar technology to search the area.
The Washington Parish Sheriff's Office later confirmed that the body of 18-year-old Jonis Warren was recovered from the river and turned over to the Washington Parish Coroner's Office.
