Too cold to go to work? Too bad! Thanks to the pandemic and remote work, a lot of people now don't have an excuse!
"It's baked into a lot of offices now," said UNO business professor Mark Rosa.
Rosa said remote work was something that was becoming increasingly common even before the pandemic, but COVID accelerated it, and now a lot of offices routinely test their remote work capabilities.
"It might be for disaster recovery reasons, a hurricane coming through," he said.
While it's good for office work, remote work is impossible for some businesses that just have to be done in person.
"It's hard to hang sheetrock from home," noted Rosa, "and its hard to clear somebody's plumbing from home."
