Four people were reportedly stabbed in the Sport & Wellness Center on the campus of Louisiana Technological University.

TheRustonLeader.com reported a 23-year-old suspect, a student at the school, was in custody. Numerous outlets named the suspect as Jacoby Johnson.

According to a press release from the school, there are four victims identified by police at this time. Two were transported to NLMC, one was airlifted by Pafford EMS to Shreveport, and the other refused treatment.

As of 11:40 a.m., one victim is reportedly in critical condition at NLMC, and the two other hospitalized victims are in 'serious but stable condition.'

One of the four victims is Dominique McCain, a graduate student who was leaving a water aerobics class when she was attacked, the Ruston Leader reported. Aside from McCain, the other three victims are non-students.

No motive is known and police said the attacks appeared to be random.

“It sounds like he ran up behind them and surprised them,” Randal Hermes, police chief at Tech told the Ruston Leader.
