Authorities are on the scene of an apparent shooting in Amite that reportedly has landed two people in the hospital.
According to multiple reports, the shooting happened near the intersection of West Martin Luther King and Richardson Streets around 7 p.m.
Monday. One victim was shot in the head, while the other was shot in the abdomen.
Neither the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office nor the Amite Police Department have confirmed any details about the incident.
Sources tell WWL First News that one of the victims died at the hospital. We are waiting for confirmation.
