St. Tammany Parish Sheriffs have arrested a now former reserve officer last night on a count of domestic abuse battery and child endangerment.

The issue came to light with a complaint filed against Paul Michael Hebert, a former deputy in the parish’s reserves.

Officers determined Hebert struck his girlfriend, who he lives with, during an altercation in the previous week.

Several children under the age of 13 were inside the residence during that altercation.

Hebert was terminated and arrested for Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment.

He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.

“I hold all of our employees, even our reserves, to the highest standard. When a public servant breaks the law, that individual must face the consequences,” said Sheriff Randy Smith.
