The Rolling Stones have leaked on their website that they will be coming to New Orleans next year to play Jazz Fest.
Officials with the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival had been teasing a big announcement today, but the Stones didn't wait.
The legendary rock band already posted tour dates for 2024 and list May 2nd as "Jazz Fest NEW ORLEANS, LA."
That is a Thursday.
The Rolling Stones had been scheduled to play at the festival in the past, but it never worked out.
In 2019, the band was scheduled to headline the Jazz Fest, but had to cancel because lead singer Mick Jagger had to have heart surgery.
Then in 2021, fest organizers again announced the Stones were coming. COVID 19 led to the cancellation of Jazz Fest that year.
After the news broke, organizers said, "A limited number of Thursday, May 2 day-specific general admission tickets to see the Rolling Stones and others will be available for purchase by Louisiana residents starting Wednesday, November 29 at 1pm CT and ending on Thursday, November 30 at 10pm CT, while supplies last. Residents with a Louisiana billing zip code will be able to purchase up to 6 tickets."
