With an eighth day of Jazz Fest and the Rolling Stones headlining one of those days, the 2024 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival brought in 500,000 attendees, the festival announced Monday.
"This year’s Festival presented as plainly as ever the beauty of Jazz Fest," said festival producer Quint Davis. "Watching the Rolling Stones perform with New Orleans and Louisiana stars Irma Thomas and Dwayne Dopsie was to witness the power of the Festival to demonstrate the connection of our culture to some of the greatest music of our time."
The May 2 performance of the Rolling Stones was an historic moment for the fest. It was the first time the fest limited tickets to a single day, resulting in a sell-out performance.
The set was the result of years of work, following bookings and cancellations of the Stones in 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Jazz Fest is set for another eight-day run in 2025, with festival dates set for Thursday, April 24 - Sunday, May 4.
