House Majority Leader Steve Scalise laid into Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and the indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Speaking with WWL’s Tommy Tucker, the long-time Republican unleashed a furious barrage on Bragg:

“It’s clear how political this is.  I mean, you look at the DA, this guy’s known historically in Manhattan for letting hardened criminals out,” Scalise says.  “In a city where crime is out of control, he brags about letting out hardened criminals.”

Scalise continued by claiming the justice system in Manhattan has been weaponized by Bragg, a politician with an agenda.

“Would he have treated anybody else differently if their name wasn’t Donald Trump?  I think most people know the answer to that.  I think that’s what disgusts them when they see somebody abusing their power to go after political enemies.  That happens in third world countries, it shouldn’t happen here in America.”

Scalise explains that the initial case into Trump ended without an indictment:

“Again, the feds didn’t file charges and it was a federal charge that they were making.  And the statute of limitations ran out, too.  But, what does the law matter to this DA?  Who brags about letting hardened criminals out of jail to go and create more victims of crime in New York.”

Scalise’s comments came one day after it was learned Trump would be indicted in Manhattan on as many 30+ charges.
