New Orleans Police responded to a crash involving a bus full of children this morning.
"NOPD received a report of a school bus involved accident shortly before 7:00 a.m. today," Sgt. Barry Fletcher said in an email. "The accident occurred in the 3700 block of North Robertson Street, near its intersection with Independence Street."
He says there were 27 students on the bus at the time.
"All of the students and the driver aboard the bus were checked by New Orleans EMS and none of them were transported to the hospital by ambulance," according to Fletcher.
The driver of the Honda was transported to hospital by New Orleans EMS.
Fletcher says that after the bus and a car collided, the bus went through the yard of a nearby house.
"The bus left the roadway as a result of the accident and reportedly collided with a house."
NOPD says the bus driver was at fault for the crash.
"The driver of the bus has been cited for Failure to Yield."
A building inspector is working to determine the stability of the home.
