Callers play an important part of my show every day from 1-4pm on WWL - and our audience is smart, funny and “tuned in.” But everyone once in a while, we get a call that can only qualify as being rather bizarre.
During a conversation about politics and media, the January 6th attack on the US Capitol was briefly mentioned, which motivated Mike from Gentilly to call in and share his thoughts. Mike claimed to actually be at the site of President Trump's speech in the Ellipse just before the riots, which is of course not a crime. Many Trump supporters attended his speech that day but did not march on the Capitol to interrupt the certification of the 2020 election.
The conversation was very friendly and proceeding with a lot of passion and excitement on the part of the caller - but suddenly, without any provocation, a sudden wave of frustration took over and the call abruptly ended.
