Scrim the dog has been rescued!
The scruffy canine (not pictured above) became a Mid City folk hero over the summer for his constant escapes from animal rescuers, who just wanted to make sure the little guy was safe.
Zeus' Place for Animals, the dog grooming/animal rescue organization posted on its Facebook this morning that they finally brought him in, and Scrim is now safe.
Zeus' Place owner Michelle Cheramie told our partners at NOLA.com that an employee at a Mid City auto shop spotted Scrim this morning and called it in.
Cheramie and her team arrived on the scene not long after, toting a tranquilizer dart gun.
Even though Scrim saw them coming and tried to make a break for it, Cheramie was able to land a shot and keep sight of the dog until the sedative took effect.
Scrim was then taken to Metairie Small Animal Hospital to sleep off the tranqs and get a medical evaluation.
