Two different crashes in Southeast Louisiana claim the lives two people.
The first happened Tuesday on Veterans Boulevard near North Causeway in Metairie. Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputies say say a motorcyclist tried to pass a car and hit that car's rear bumper. The motorcyclist and his passenger were both thrown from the bike. The passenger, identified only by deputies as a woman, died Thursday at a hospital. The motorcyclist and the driver of the car were also taken to a hospital for their injuries. Their conditions were not disclosed.
The second crash happened around 3 p.m. Friday on LA 44 at East 22nd Street in Reserve. State troopers say a turning school bus crossed into Beverly Creecy's lane and hit her car. Creecy later died at the hospital. Neither the bus driver nor the 28 students on the bus were injured.
Both crashes remain under investigation.
