Sheriff: Man beat up, threatened Houma hospital staffers

A Houma man is facing battery and terrorizing charges after he allegedly beat up two hospital employees after being kicked off the hospital's property.

According to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet, it happened around 10 a.m. Thursday at Chabert Medical Center.


Soignet says Ladarius Jones was visiting patient when he became beligerent. Hospital staff allegedly asked Jones to leave multiple times before calling security. Soignet says Jones attacked two members of the hospital staff and threatened to disarm security guards and use their guns against others inside the hospital.

Jones remains in the Terrebonne Parish Jail on $10,000 bond.
