New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the former St. Thomas neighborhood.
Police say shortly before 1 p.m., officers were sent to investigate a call of a shooting at the corner of St. Thomas and St. Andrew streets.
"Officers found an adult male victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound," said Sgt. Barry Fletcher in the NOPD Public Affairs Division. "New Orleans EMS confirmed the victim was deceased on scene."

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
