Gunfire on Royal Street early Sunday morning sent a man to the emergency room.
Witnesses say three men were arguing near the corner of Royal and St.
Ann Streets behind St. Louis Cathedral, when one of them pulled out a gun and started firing.
"Initial reports show an adult male gunshot wound victim is being transported to the hospital by EMS," NOPD Public Relations Specialist Kaitlin Rust Landry said in an email.
People on the scene said it appeared bullets hit two people, but Landry only reported on person going to the ER initially.
She did not say their conditions.
"The call came in at 12:22 a.m."
Landry did not offer any further information.
