Shooting victims on Poydras, Canal, Conti and I-10 Service Rd.

Bullets were flying in New Orleans Saturday night and Sunday morning. Victims were shot from Downtown New Orleans to New Orleans East.

In all, eleven people were shot in about 13 hours.


Just before 10:30pm Saturday night eight people were struck by bullets along the I-10 Service Road at Read Blvd.

An initial police report said, "Victims at gathering at location when shots fired. Multiple people struck. Two victims transported to hospital by EMS. Remaining victims arrived at hospital via private conveyance."

There were two more shootings just around midnight.

The first of those was on Canal Street, when a 30-year-old man said he witnessed apparent criminal activity... and then the alleged criminals shot him.

The NOPD described the events, "While walking, victim noticed suspects attempting to burglarize vehicles. When suspects noticed victim, they began to shoot. Victim struck."

That happened in the 1500 block of Canal.

About two minutes later on Poydras Street, a 29-year-old man was shot.  He was in the 800 block of Poydras.

"Victim outside location when suspects approached and began shooting. Victim struck."

Shortly before noon on Sunday, NOPD notified the media of a shooting in the 2500 block of Conti Street.

"Initial reports show a male victim with an unspecified gunshot wound arriving at a local hospital."

Police did not release any information about suspects of motives.
